Sophie Turner talks about her Journey with Game of Thrones, growing up in the public eye, and more

Game of Thrones Season 7 is around the corner, Sophie Turner talks about her Journey with Game of Thrones.

She was the driving force in the effort to retake Winterfell from the Boltons in season 6. With the show’s success, Sophie opportunity in Hollywood increases. When Instyle asked her about season 7 she said:

I have to be careful because I’m such a blabbermouth. I’m so passionate about the show, and it has been my life for so long that it’s become real to me. So whenever people ask me about it, I want to tell them everything!

In addition with Game of Thrones she worked with X-Men series as a powerful mutant. Turner also taken on smaller role, such as troubled teenager Josie in the indie film Huntsville, which is due out this year. She shared her experience:

I got to cover myself in tattoos, and I had an Alabama accent—it was such a change… It killed my hair. I would never normally do it. I loved having that red hair and feel like it’s part of me now.

Her natural hair color is blonde, by the way, but maybe not Huntsville blonde. In any case, that explains why she’s wearing a red wig for season 7. “I used to think blondes [have more fun],” she joked. “But now I think that reds have more fun.”

Growing up in the public eye hasn’t always been easy and with the success she has got.
She admitted that her onscreen sister and best offscreen friend Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) helped her a lot in this jouney. Without her she may have given up on acting.

This has been amazing and hard. To have someone who understands what you’re going through, who’s the same age, who came from pretty much the same background—that is so rare. And we’ve had the same struggles in terms of dealing with body image and puberty and growing up in the public eye. But I found my strength in her, and I think she found her strength in me.

She’s also found help from boyfriend Joe Jonas, with whom she’s been in a fairly high-profile relationship with for a while. Although Turner likes to “keep things pretty private” between them, there’s only so much you can do when you’re a celebrity, which is the point:

I found it easier to date someone who understands the industry or is in that world. You realize that you’re not going to see each other all the time. And you don’t feel like a jerk when you’re like, ‘My publicist says I can’t do this…
