Filming on Game of Thrones season 8 continues at Magheramorne Quarry in Northern Ireland, as does the stream of video and images from the set. These new pictures, which come courtesy of Redditor WatchersOnMyBalls (pause for contemplation) are the most intense yet. This fan has gotten up close and personal with many of the props, by which I mean piles and piles of corpses. You can check them out below, but beware SPOILERS.
Let’s First take a look at these pictures:
Notice the number of different sigils on the shields and armor of the dead. Sigils for House Arryn, House Karstark (come through, Alys Karstark), House Mormont and, most surprisingly, House Greyjoy are visible.
Are these corpses supposed to be wights, or human combatants fried to a crisp by dragon fire?
It’s hard to picture Euron volunteering to help in the fight against the dead, but I suppose it could happen. Either that, or by the time this battle happens, Euron has been taken care of and Theon and/or Yara are leading the Ironborn.
Okay, there’s a bit more to this. In addition to the images, WatchersOnMyBalls dropped some SPOILER knowledge on the good people of the Freefolk reddit. Unlike the pictures, it’s impossible to verify any of this (“I was not able to get close enough to take pic”), but given that this Redditor brought us all these images, I think they deserve to be heard out, at least.
“Jamie Lannister will die in Brienne arms.”
According to WinterIsComing, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Gwendoline Christie have both been spotted at Magheramorne Quarry. They also go on to report that Jaime and Brienne indeed have a scene where they fight the dead together.
“Melisandre fights the Night King by herself and holds her own but does not win. She does have the power to turn the dead against him.”
Again, WinterIsComing has reported that Melisandre has been spotted near the set at Magheramorne Quarry. This could easily be true.
But Again, the text spoilers may, or may not be true. Hopefully, we’ll find out more details as filming for Season 8 continues.
